What is Google Classroom?

Google Classroom is the preferred online platform chosen by MPS to deliver content from teachers to students on a regular basis.

Announcements and content, such as Weekly Planners, Differentiated Learning, ZOOM Video tutorials, Links to differentiated online learning programs, Live Streams, Whole school PBL Lessons + much more are delivered promptly through a secure, department endorsed portal. This platform ensures students and parents are provided with content for home learning that mirrors the learning required, according to the national curriculum and NSW syllabus requirements.

How does my child access Google Classroom?

Each class from Kinder to Year 6 at MPS has its own Google Classroom Page. Teachers send each student in the class an email link inviting them to JOIN the page.  Students must first log in to their department Student Portal using their username and password (email your child’s teacher if you don’t have this information), access their email, and ACCEPT the invitation to join the class.

There are then TWO ways a student can access Google Classroom.

1. Once logged into the Student Portal (hyperlinked on the left AND also found as a widget on the right-hand side panel of the main page of this site), click on the LEARNING option (lightbulb symbol found on the right), and select GSUITE. Then, select CLASSROOM. This is the most common method used at school.

2. Students can also simply click on the Google Classroom widget (hyperlink on the left AND also found on the right-side panel of the main page of this site) and enter their school email address ie. firstname.lastname#@education.nsw.gov.au and password. This is a shortcut option bypassing the need to log in to the Student Portal.
